What the checker looks at

The records the checker reads, and why they matter
RecordWhat it doesIf it is missing or wrong
MXSays which servers receive mail for your domain.Your domain cannot receive email.
SPFLists the servers allowed to send as your domain.Gmail and Outlook trust your mail less; fakes are easier.
DKIMSigns each message so receivers can tell it was not changed.Mail is more likely to land in spam.
DMARCTells receivers what to do with mail that fails SPF and DKIM.Fake mail “from” your domain still reaches inboxes.
MTA-STS and TLS reportingMake other servers use encryption when delivering to you, and tell you when they cannot.Optional; mail can travel unencrypted if someone interferes.
BIMILets some inboxes show your logo beside your mail.Optional; needs DMARC at quarantine or reject.

Questions

Is the email domain checker free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit for normal use. It reads only the public DNS records of the domain you type, the same records every mail server reads when your mail arrives.

Why does it say no DKIM key was found when I have one?

A DKIM key is published under a name the provider chooses (the selector). The checker tries the names the common providers use; if yours uses its own, the key cannot be found from outside. The grade never goes down for that. Your provider’s admin panel shows whether signing is on.

What grade should my domain have?

A means SPF is correct and DMARC is set to quarantine or reject, so fakes of your domain are stopped. B usually means DMARC is only watching (p=none). C means there is no DMARC. D or F means SPF is missing or wrong, and your mail is more likely to land in spam.

Does it check whether my server is on a blocklist?

No. Blocklists are about the server that sends your mail, usually your provider’s, not your domain. Your provider watches its own servers; if mail is refused with a blocklist message, send it the refusal.

Do you keep the domains I check?

No. A result is kept in memory for five minutes so a second check is quick, and our logs record only the grade, never the domain.
