GINbox is email for your business's own correspondence. Our shared sending reputation is what gets every customer's mail into inboxes, so we protect it firmly. This policy applies to every account, domain, mailbox and user.
1. Email you may not send
- Unsolicited bulk or commercial email (spam): messages sent to people who have not asked for them, including cold outreach at scale, newsletters without consent, and "warming" or rotating mailboxes to avoid limits.
- Mail to purchased, rented, scraped, harvested or shared address lists, or to addresses generated by guessing.
- Marketing or bulk email of any kind, even to people who opted in. GINbox is not a bulk-sending service; use a dedicated newsletter provider on a separate domain or subdomain.
- Phishing, fraud, scams or impersonation: pretending to be another person, business, bank or government body; spoofed or forged headers; misleading sender names or subjects.
- Malware: viruses, ransomware, malicious links or attachments, or anything meant to harm or gain unauthorised access.
- Unlawful content, including content prohibited under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, content that infringes intellectual property or privacy, child sexual abuse material, threats, harassment, or content that promotes violence or terrorism.
- Mail sent in breach of any anti-spam or marketing law that applies to the sender or the recipient (for example the CAN-SPAM Act, Canada's CASL, the GDPR/PECR, or the TRAI regulations for commercial communication in India).
2. Things you may not do with the Service
- Use a mailbox as an open relay, proxy or gateway for other systems or people, or share credentials so others can send through your account.
- Try to get into an account, mailbox or domain you are not authorised to use, probe or scan our systems, or work around a limit, filter or security control.
- Send to so many recipients, or so quickly, that it degrades the Service for others; split messages or rotate mailboxes or domains to stay under limits.
- Add a domain you are not entitled to use.
- Resell the Service, except as an authorised GINbox partner under a written agreement.
- Use the Service to store or distribute material for others as a file host.
3. How we enforce it
The Service applies these controls automatically, for every customer:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Sending limits | A maximum number of recipients per hour and per day for each mailbox, set by plan. New accounts (first 14 days) and free trials have lower limits. Over the limit, the message is deferred, not lost. |
| Repeat breach | A second limit breach within a day freezes sending on that mailbox and alerts our team — the usual sign of a stolen password. |
| Content check | Every outgoing message is checked automatically for spam and malware as it is sent; high-scoring messages are refused. Content is checked in memory and is not stored or read by a person. |
| Dangerous attachments | Executable and other dangerous file types are refused, as Gmail and Outlook do. |
| Complaints and bounces | We monitor spam complaints and bounces. A mailbox whose complaints or hard bounces pass safe thresholds has its sending paused automatically. |
| Sign-in protection | Repeated wrong passwords from an address are blocked for a period; administrators must use two-step sign-in. |
When we find a breach we may, without prior notice where needed to stop harm: refuse a message, pause sending from a mailbox or domain, suspend sign-in, suspend or terminate the account, and remove a domain. Serious or repeated breaches (spam, phishing, malware) may lead to immediate termination without refund. We tell you what happened and what to do, unless the law prevents it.
You are responsible for costs we incur because of a breach by you or your users, including the cost of getting our sending addresses removed from blocklists (see Terms, Indemnity).
We cooperate with law-enforcement agencies and with CERT-In as the law requires, and may preserve records relevant to an investigation.
4. If your account is affected
- Sending paused because of limits or a suspected stolen password: change the mailbox password (the old one stops working at once), check the mailbox's devices, then ask us to restore sending.
- Paused because of complaints or bounces: clean the recipient list and stop the mail that caused it; we restore sending once the cause is fixed.
5. Reporting abuse
Report spam, phishing or other abuse sent from a GINbox address to abuse@ginbox.net, with the full message headers if you can. We acknowledge reports within 24 hours. Security vulnerabilities: info@ginbox.net.
Copyright. If you own the copyright in a work that is being shared through GINbox without your permission, write to our Grievance Officer (info@ginbox.net) with your name and contact details, the work, proof that you own the right, where the copy is, and a statement that it is not licensed. Under the Copyright Act 1957 and the Copyright Rules 2013 we disable access to it, tell the account owner, and keep it disabled for 21 days; after that it may be restored unless you send us a court order.
6. Spam you receive
We filter incoming mail for spam, phishing and malware, and you can block senders. Filtering cannot catch every unwanted message, and a filter can occasionally mark wanted mail as junk: check your Junk folder. We are not responsible for the content of mail that other people send to you.
7. Changes
We may update this policy to respond to new kinds of abuse; material changes are notified as described in the Terms.
