Zoho’s mail server settings
GINbox connects to Zoho over IMAP. This is the incoming server Zoho lists for organisation (own-domain) accounts in its help pages, checked on 27 October 2026:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| IMAP server | imappro.zoho.com |
| Port and security | 993, SSL |
| User name | Your full email address |
| Zoho’s help page | IMAP access in Zoho Mail |
Zoho runs regional data centres, and Zoho Mail shows the exact server for your account in its settings. GINbox reads your domain’s records and picks the matching one for you. Zoho is a trademark of its owner; GINbox is not affiliated with Zoho.
Before you start
- Turn on IMAP access for every mailbox (each person, or the administrator for everyone).
- Collect a password for each mailbox: the Zoho password, or an app-specific password where two-factor sign-in or SAML is on.
- List every mailbox and alias, including shared addresses such as info@ and sales@.
- Keep Zoho active until the move is finished and checked.
The move, step by step
- Add your domain to GINbox and prove you own it with a TXT record. Mail keeps arriving at Zoho meanwhile.
- Publish SPF, DKIM and DMARC for GINbox, replacing Zoho’s SPF include rather than adding a second SPF record. See SPF, DKIM and DMARC explained.
- Open Move mail in the admin panel: it recognises Zoho. Enter each address with its password, or upload a CSV file, and start.
- When every mailbox shows Copied, switch MX to GINbox and remove Zoho’s MX records. See how to change an MX record.
- Wait three days, then cancel Zoho. GINbox collects late mail from Zoho for three days after the switch, then deletes every password it held for the move.
Questions people ask
Do I need to turn anything on in Zoho first?
Yes, IMAP access. Each person can turn it on in Zoho Mail under Settings → Mail Accounts → IMAP Access, or your Zoho administrator can allow it for everyone in the Zoho Mail admin console.
Which password do we use?
Each person’s Zoho password, unless they use two-factor sign-in, your organisation signs in through SAML, or they sign in with Google or another account. Then Zoho needs an app-specific password, created in their Zoho account security settings.
Will Zoho folders and read status come across?
Yes. GINbox copies every folder with each message’s date and read status, then checks that every message arrived.
Can we enter everyone at once?
Yes. Upload a CSV file with each address and its password, or enter them in the form. Passwords are used only for the copy and deleted when the move ends.
Try it on your own domain
Set up a real mailbox at your own domain, with every record checked for you. No card needed.
