Outlook for Windows (classic)
- Open Outlook and choose File → Add Account.
- Type your email address, open Advanced options, tick Let me set up my account manually, and choose Connect.
- Choose IMAP.
- Incoming mail: server
mail.ginbox.net, port993, encryption SSL/TLS. - Outgoing mail: server
mail.ginbox.net, port465, encryption SSL/TLS (or port587with STARTTLS). - Choose Next, enter your password, and Connect. Outlook downloads your folders.
The new Outlook for Windows, and Outlook for Mac
- New Outlook for Windows: Settings → Accounts → Add account, type your address, choose IMAP as the provider if asked, open the advanced settings and enter the same servers and ports. Outlook on iPhone and Android

- Turn on Advanced settings and enter
mail.ginbox.netfor both incoming (IMAP, 993) and outgoing (SMTP, 465) with your full address as the user name.

Questions people ask
Do I need a Microsoft 365 subscription to use Outlook with my business email?
No. Outlook can add any IMAP account. You need Outlook itself (bought, included with Microsoft 365, or the free mobile app), but your email can be with any provider.
Outlook keeps asking for my password. Why?
Usually the password is wrong or your mailbox has two-step sign-in. Make an app password in GINbox webmail (Settings → App passwords), name it “Outlook”, and enter it when Outlook asks.
Which is better in Outlook: IMAP or POP?
IMAP. It keeps mail on the server, so Outlook, your phone and webmail all match. POP downloads mail into Outlook’s file on one computer, and losing that computer can mean losing the mail.
Will my calendar appear in Outlook too?
No. An IMAP account carries mail only, and Outlook does not sync the standard CalDAV calendars by itself. Use the calendar in GINbox webmail, or add it to your phone’s own Calendar app from webmail Settings.
I see “The server could not be found” when sending.
Check the outgoing server name is mail.ginbox.net, the port is 465 with SSL/TLS (or 587 with STARTTLS), and that “My outgoing server requires authentication” is on.
